1. Be nice, be respectful and try not to be rude
For beginners, be friendly towards each other. We're in one community however, everyone has different opinions on various issues so let's be respectful towards each other and our opinions.
2) No bashing of people
It means any mention of schools by individuals, mention of names of private individuals, explicitly calling other people foul names is strictly not allowed.
3) Dyslexia
This means if somebody's posts may not be in perfect grammar/spelling, it's not appropriate for you to point out those little mistakes.
4. Stay safe!
Don't tell anyone your phone number or address, or other personal information such as your Friendster or MySpace profile (or any other similar site. You may ask other member's contact infos through PM's.
5. No Flaming
Flamewars contribute nothing to the forums. Don't get aggravated. If one of the staff encounters a flamewar among the members. The starter will be warned, if not banned for a time span the moderator/admin in question deems fit.
6. Keep everything kid-friendly.
This covers text, images and choice of username. Therefore no pornographic materials allowed. Some members are still children and it may not be suitable for their age.
7. Don't go "Off-Topic"
Try and keep the discussion on-topic as much as possible. If a thread gets out of hand, leave it be, and contact the admin.
Have some respect for another person's topic. If the topic means nothing to you, then stay out, but don't make rude remarks. If your remarks are enough to offend other members, appropriate action may be taken by moderators and administrators, in accordance with these rules.
8) Do not SCREAM, do not use text shortcuts and sticky caps
Screaming-this means excessive use of caps. AS IN TALKING LIKE THIS is simply annoying to the readers. If you want it to be clear, you can use the bold, italic or underlined format.
Text shorcuts are also not allowed. Use proper grammar and spelling unlike the mobile phones. There's no character limit here, no need to use shortcuts.
Sticky caps are hard to understand so avoid having your caps oN tHiS fOrMaT!
9) No illegal activities
Links to websites that contain illegal games/movies, pornographic sites, violent and/or racist content are strictly NOT to be posted.
10) Racism, Cultural Intolerance and Gender Discrimination
Racism, maliciously inappropriate remarks pertaining to cultures, gender or other degrading remarks are not allowed. You will automatically be banned if you do so.
11) No posts made to hurt back.
Complaints should addressed to the Administrator.
12) Spamming is not allowed.
Don't post just to increase your rank. Make sure you have something new to share with everyone, or an idea you want to talk about, when you reply.
What are spam messages or topics?
- Spam messages are composed of less than 5 words. Examples may be "I agree," "Yes," "Woohoo," "Good Idea," "Good Work," "Hello (name)!" etc. You can reply with these phrases, but include why you agree or disagree so your post won't be a waste.
- Spam messages does not have any substance or significance.
- Spam messages are not related to the topic.
- Spam threads are filled with unnecessary posts.
- Spam threads going on for years doesn't mean that it is "excluded" from the house rules.
- Spam threads having 50+ pages doesn't mean that it is "excluded" from the house rules.
13) Images
-If you share an image in the board, make sure it's yours. If you got it from other sites, put the link where you got it or simply link it.
-Uploading/Posting any inappropriate or pornographic material is prohibited and can result in a permanent ban.
14) Signatures & Avatars
-Do not use too many signatures because they make the forum load slower as well as make it longer to scroll.
-Any type of pornography is prohibited in avatars and signatures.
-Keep signatures under 550 x 550 pixels.
